Autumn is here and the roses are still blooming - along with Pineapple Sage, Mexican Petunias, and Tea Olive! Read More Here.... At Stoney Hill Farm, we appreciate our plants and their gifts to us! The hummingbirds and bees love our Pineapple Sage plants and so do we! We harvest the leaves just prior to blooming, but we always leave some blooms for the bees and hummers! Pineapple Sage Hydrosol is a nice addition to toners, creams, lotions or other personal care formulations. Our Pineapple Sage Hydrosol is ready! Our Muscadines have produced an abundant crop this Fall. We'll make Muscadine and Pineapple Sage Jam, extracts, and wine with this nutrient rich fruit. Throughout the spring and summer we were very busy distilling our antique roses into our lovely Rose Hydrosol. ARTEMISIA HYDROSOL is the aromatic water obtained by distillation of Artemisia ludoviciana – known by common names such as White Sage and Owyhee. Artemisia is named after Artemis – Goddess of the Moon, Nature and all wild things. Artemisia is loved for her spiritual associations as well as her aromatic characteristics. Artemisia ludoviciana has been used traditionally as a ceremonial plant, for medicine, and for skin care. Our aromatic Artemisia Hydrosol can be used in soothing and cooling skin care applications and also for aromatherapy. We use Artemisia Hydrosol as a refreshing, yet soothing facial mist. Artemisia Hydrosol can be combined with other hydrosols or used alone. It can also be used as the water phase in skin care and hair care formulations. Our lovely grey Artemisia plants are tenacious in almost all situations. We honor their tenacity and appreciate the aromatic waters they give us. The Clary Sage plant has been used traditionally for skin care and the Essential Oil is known for its aromatic characteristics. Aromatherapists have used Clary Sage Essential Oil for its balancing, euphoric, aphrodisiac, and revitalizing qualities. The Essential Oil can also be used for wrinkles, acne, inflammation, dandruff, and hair loss.
